Minister of Natural Resources and Climate Change Michael Usi says fish production has potential to transform the country’s economy before 2063.
He said this in Nkhatabay yesterday when he inaugurated the stocking of fish at Linga Dam in the area of Traditional Authority Fukamapiri, where he emphasized the abundance of untapped water sources in Malawi without fish.
“Currently there are over 100 dams like Linga which are used for irrigation and many rivers which can also be stocked with fish,” said Usi.
The Minister also conducted a tour of the Lunyangwa Aquaculture Centre, inspecting a fish farm and its fish feed milling factory.
