First Capital Bank (FCB) has pledged to continue supporting business journalists since they are critical in promoting financial literacy.
Head of Marketing and Communication at the bank, Twikale Chirwa said this happens when they report on budgeting, saving, investing and managing debt among other areas.
Chirwa disclosed this in Blantyre when presenting a K2 million cheque meant for the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Business Journalists (ABJ).
He said as a financial institution they have always relied on business journalists to simplify financial news so that people can make informed decisions concerning their finances.
ABJ Advisory Board Member, Aubrey Mchulu said this year’s AGM which is slated for 26 to 28 September in Mangochi will focus on important economic topics relevant to Malawi’s recovery after experiencing numerous economic shocks since 2023.
