Association for Women in Media (AWOME) through its central region chapter has donated assorted food items and soap to Mai Mbambande Elderly Home in Lilongwe.
The elderly home’s founder, Deborah Mbale, well known as Mayi Mbambande, thanked the association for the donation.
“We are going through difficult times financially, for someone to bring us this support, we really appreciate,” said Mbale.
AWOME National Vice Chairperson, Lisa Malango, said the donation is part of the association’s initiatives to celebrate mothers during the month of October.
Mayi Mbambande Elderly Home is situated at Dzama Village in the Area of Traditional Authority Chitukula and supports 84 older men and women.
