10 Bullets players called in Flames squad

Ten players from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, both the main and reserve teams, have been selected for the provisional squad for the Malawi National Football Team, the Flames, which has a total of 27 players.

Patrick Mabedi, coach of the Flames, said the squad comprises locally-based players, who will go into camp on Sunday.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has contributed seven players while five come from Silver Strikers.

Teams such as Kamuzu Barracks, Mzuzu Hammers (formerly Ekwendeni Hammers), Dedza Dynamos, MAFCO, and Mighty Tigers have contributed a player each to the squad.

The squad is set to participate in an upcoming four-nations tournament scheduled to take place during the FIFA window between March 18 to 26.

Malawi will play host to Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

The matches are preparatory fixtures for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers as well as the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
