President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is at the University of Malawi where he is attending the Chancellor’s Day.
Upon arrival, the President was taken to a construction site of the university’s new state-of-the-art administration building which is expected to have 96 offices once complete in February 2024.
According to UNIMA, the project is now at 72 percent complete.
While on the tour President Chakwera also toured two new lecture theatres named Chief Mwambo and Chikowi respectively.
According to the institution, this is the first time a Chancellor has visited and inaugurated new buildings since the first Chancellor Ngwazi Dr Hastings Kamuzu Banda.
The Malawi leader is now in Brown Chimphamba Biology Laboratory.
