Police in Mzimba have Arrested three people suspected of engaging in various criminal activities on the night of January 25, 2024, in Jenda.
The first suspect, identified as Prince Zakeyu Chimuseu , aged 46, who is also an ex-police officer, was discovered in possession of six wooden doors believed to have been stolen.
Additionally, he had four 14–foot steel pipes for which he could not provide a satisfactory account of ownership.
The second and third suspects, Macreen Tchunguwe 21, and Andrew Maluko 44, are suspected of breaking into the residence of Walis Chirwa at the beginning of January in Jenda. Their alleged loot includes an electric scale and three cell phones (Techno, Samsung, and Itel) all valued at K800,000.
According to MacFarlane Mseteka, the Public Relations Officer for Jenda Police Station, all three suspects will soon appear in court to answer for their alleged crimes after the completion of investigations.
Meanwhile, Jenda Police is urging the general public that whoever has a case against the ex-police officer, Chimuseu, must come forward. “He is a habitual housebreaker,” said Mseteka. “Numerous complaints have been lodged against him in the past, prompting authorities to encourage those with grievances to contact the police station.”
