EXPECTANT, BREASTFEEDING WOMEN CAN GET COVID-19 JABS Featured

The Ministry of Health has disclosed that now expectant women and lactating mothers can get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Speaking in an interview with MBC, the Ministry's Spokesperson Adrian Chikumbe said after thorough research health experts have found that the COVID-19 vaccine has no adverse effects on pregnant women and mothers who are breastfeeding.


From the onset of COVID-19 vaccine administration expectant women and breastfeeding mothers were being excluded from getting the jab fearing some adverse side effects.


"It has been discovered that these vaccines poses no danger to expectant and breastfeeding women,we urge women under such conditions to go and get their jabs," said Chikumbe.


Currently the country has in stock Astrazeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
