Speaking during the launch of the promotion, Standard Bank Head of Personal and Business Banking (PBB) Dr. Margaret Kubwalo-Chaika said the bank will dish out prizes to lucky customers who will use Visa Cards for online payments (E-Commerce) and payments at Point of Sale machines locally and abroad.

“We are encouraging our customers to do more with their Standard Bank Visa cards through online purchases, point of sale transactions and international usage because this is one way of securing their money and providing convenience,” she said.

Dr Chaika said the bank is providing great experience through the new chip and pin debit cards it offers to the customers.

“Standard Bank is delivering great experiences for consumers and merchants in the country and abroad. The visa cards enable them to make transactions without necessarily visiting the bank by using channels such as e-commerce and Point of Sale (POS),” she explained.

Dr. Chaika added that cards are provided free of charge to new customers and those that are swapping their old cards for the new chip and pin debit cards thereby ensuring that every customer has access to ease their transactions.

“In order to enter into the promotion, customers need to make purchases using our cards at any POS countrywide and abroad. In addition, the winning chances are extended to those customers who are making purchases online,” she said.

As part of the promotion, Standard Bank will conduct trolley dashes in the 3 major cities during the Christmas period where lucky customers will stand a chance to fill trolleys with goods of their choice and the bank will pay for them.
