Thawe won the two-minute paid for trolly dash shopping after using her National Bank Visa card on Standard Bank’s Point of Sale (POS) device to settle her K66,000 bill at Chipiku Plus at Ginnery Corner in the commercial capital.
To win in the promotion, customers are supposed to swipe their visa cards on Standard Bank Point of Sale Machine at Games Stores, Shoprite, Chipiku Plus, PEP and Superior Halaal Stores across the country.
Standard Bank’s Head of Branch Banking Andrew Santhe said the promotion is a continuation of their efforts to deliver convenience, safety and comfort to the bank’s customers.
“Standard Bank is proud to be taking the lead in giving our customers and those of other banks, the real flexibility when it comes to shopping with their Visa ATM Cards.
“Those customers from other banks who have swiped with their VISA Cards on Standard Bank POS devices will testify to enjoying the real taste of this campaign. People like Mr Purity Chitalo, a National Bank customer, won free shopping from GAME Lilongwe worth more than K1 million,” said Santhe.
He added, “As we continue with the promotion, we are pleased to be extending the opportunity to parents, guardians and students to win free shopping in form of scholarly materials.”
He further said Standard Bank customers should look forward to more exciting products and services in 2017.
“We further promise to continue going an extra mile to demonstrate capability in offering tailor-made products and services to our customers.
“As a bank, in 2016 we have registered successes — testimony of this being the Bank of the Year Award which we have received last year from the Banker Magazine in London,” he asserted.
