Addressing the media in Lilongwe on Zimbabwe’s Anti Sanctions Day falling on  October 25 every year, the diplomats led by Tanzania’s High Commissioner to Malawi Benedicto Martin Mashiba, said Zimbabwe has since 2001 lost billions of dollars in trade and investment opportunities as a result of the sanctions.

He said removing the sanctions will enable Zimbabwe’s economy to bounce back from m deep recession for the benefit of the people of that country and the region.

” The harmful effects of the illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe since 2001 has devastating effects on all Zimbabweans. We are aware that Zimbabwe has lost billions in United States Dollars over the past two decades due to the sanctions," said Mashiba.

The theme for this year’s Anti Zimbabwe Sanctions is: 'Friends to all, Enemy to none: Forging Ahead and Enhancing Innovation and Productivity in Adversity of Sanctions.'
