The first group of Malawians fleeing Xenophobia attacks in South Africa arrived in the country on Monday in the evening with 390 victims aboard six buses.

The Department of Disaster Management Affairs is currently gathering reports from district commissions affected by floods ahead of resettlement of those who were affected by floods that devastated the country’s 15 districts.

Two Malawians have been confirmed dead in the on-going Xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
