During the graduation, Aisha was one of the very few students who received a standing honour and token of appreciation from State President Dr Lazarus Chakwera following her outstanding academic performance.
Aisha is a daughter to a veteran journalist and current Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Acting Director of News and Programmes Mervis Sennga.
Confirming the accident, Ntcheu Police Spokesperson Hastings Chigalu said Senga sustained severe head injuries in the accident, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
"Senga, 26, died after the vehicle she was travelling in overturned at Bawi area, along Balaka-Ntcheu M1 road at around 13:30 pm," said Chigalu.
He further said the vehicle, a Toyota Atenza saloon registration number BY 8379, was being driven by Tarsizio Nkhoma, 28, from the direction of Balaka heading towards Ntcheu with three passengers on board.
"Upon arrival at the said place, he failed to negotiate a bend. As a result, he swerved to the extreme nearside dirty verge where it overturned. She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Ntcheu District Hospital," he explained.
Another passenger sustained serious injuries and is admitted to the hospital while two people, a passenger and the driver, escaped with minor injuries.
Senga hailed from Chiradzulu district.
