The match has been organized by Football Association of Malawi (FAM) in partnership with the Malawi Blood Transfusion Service (MBTS).
Bullets and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers, widely known as The People's Team and The Nomads, respectively, have since pledged their support towards the blood donation drive.
Wanderers Team Manager Steve Madeira called on followers in Lilongwe to turn up in large numbers not only to watch the match but also to donate blood.
Madeira also said fans should expect entertaining encounter worth the billing.
“We are ready for the match, it’s a battle for supremacy and we are going there for nothing but a win," said Madeira.
Likewise, Bullets Deputy General Secretary Kelvin Moyo urged their followers to equally support the blood donation exercise.
MBTS has set blood collection points starting from Thursday to donate blood.
The blood collection points include Area 23 Police Unit ground, Lilongwe City Mall, Unicef ground in Chinsapo 1, Mtsiliza ground among others. On the match day, people will donate blood from 8am to 12pm.
MBTS expects to collect at least 250 units of blood this, according Allen Kaombe, MBTS Spokesperson.
Advance sales of tickets for Saturday's FAM Charity Shield match commenced on Thursday. The tickets will also be sold on the match day but at a higher price, according to FAM President Walter Nyamilandu.
Advance tickets for Open Stand have been pegged at K1000 and K2000 on match day, Covered Stand K3000 and K4500 on match day; VIP K5000 and K7500 on match day.
Selling points for the tickets in Lilongwe are Civo Stadium, Mbowe Puma Filling Station, Kafoteka Filling Station Opposite Lilongwe Bus depot, Area 18 Puma Filling Station, Area 23 Puma Filling Station, Lkuna Energem Filling Station and Area 25 Chipiku Stores.
Nyamilandu said the Charity Shield Cup will be an annual event to help MBTS collect enough blood since football is a biggest crowd pulling sport.
All proceeds from the match will be donated to Kamuzu Central Hospital to buy trolleys and other medical equipments.
