The former Dedza Young soccer FC coach has replaced Oscar Kaunda who was dramatically fired by the club two days ago.

Kaunda a FAM C licence coach was fired following Football Association of Malawi’s(FAM) directive that all super league coaches must at least hold a CAF B Licence.

Civo United acting general secretary Charles Mwenda confirmed the appointment of Jegwe saying he was favoured by many factors.

Apart from branding Jegwe as visionary tactician, Mwenda said the new coach is hard working and result oriented.

“Yes I can confirm that after some talks we have appointed Jegwe because we share the same vision.

“With the club licensing project, the man seems to have required papers apart from being in the civil service already.” said Mwenda.

He said if all goes well with authorities at capital hill, Jegwe who was working for Dedza district hospital will be transferred to the Malawi Capital Lilongwe where the team is based.

“We don’t think it will be a problem to bring him to Lilongwe.” added Mwenda.

Jegwe himself confirmed the appointment to MBC despite calling it a challenge; he said he is up for the challenge.

“I am humbled to be trusted with such a big team but it has been my dream to one day coach a big club.” said Jegwe who promised to transform the team within his two years that he has been given by the club.
