Malawi Broadcasting Corporation – MBC says preparations for 2017 innovations awards are at an advanced stage. The event is scheduled to take place on 15th December at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.

President Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika and the First Lady, Madame Gertrude Mutharika have expressed great shock and sadness over the death of four people due to an accident involving a bus carrying college students at Nazipulu bridge near Mtakataka in Dedza district.

In Malawi and any other society, for long time, social attitudes reflect the view that persons with disabilities are unhealthy, defective and deviant. Many years, society as a whole treated these people as objects of fear and pity.

Many young people in the country these days call themselves artists and producers. Majority of these artists have had their music going no further than social media platforms, such as WhatsApp-without even enjoying the airplay in any media house in the country.
