JTI Malawi, one of the country’s tobacco buyers says it remains committed to contributing to the Lilongwe city’s infrastructure by improving access roads to Kanengo industrial site to facilitate easy transportation of tobacco.

The Tea Industry in the country is lobbying for better prices for the leaf to ensure the provision of decent wages to workers and smallholder farmers.

A number of British-based companies will be visiting the country this week at the invitation of government to view for themselves the potential for trade and investment with Malawi.
