Late reporting for medical services amongst some people who have tested positive for COVID 19 in Mzimba is reportedly hampering the fight against the pandemic. This was disclosed during a visit by Minister of National Unity, Timothy Mtambo and Deputy Minister of Labour Vera Kamtukule and some members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID -19 who visited the Mzimba emergency treatment center. The aim of the visit was to appreciate the efforts being made and challenges faced in the fight against the pandemic. In his remarks, Mtambo said the revelations are crucial in the formulation of necessary policies to address the same. Mzimba District Director of Health and Social Services said some members of the community refuse admissions once test positive due to some misconceptions regarding the disease. In his remarks Mmberwa District Council Chairperson Councilor Yolanda Ngwira called upon government to quickly respond to some of the challenges the district is facing in the fight against the pandemic.
