The conference is scheduled for October 31 and will run through to November 2, 2021, under the theme 'Leading Malawi's Economic Renaissance Turning into the Africa Agenda 2063.'
Presenting the Cheque to BAM, MyBucks’ Head of Trade Finance, Tasokwa Mchawe said “The conference is meaningful and very important as it seeks to address what further needs to be done for the betterment of our country on top of what is already being done in terms of the country’s economic renaissance."
It is against this background that MyBucks is contributing to fund the Lakeshore Conference.
Mchawe highlighted that “We further recognize and appreciate the role that Bankers Association of Malawi plays in uniting and guiding commercial banks in the country and wish them the best in their conference."
Accepting the cheque, BAM's Training and learning Manager, Nitta Ganizani, said:
“We appreciate MyBucks for the gesture expressed through this sponsorship. This is not the first time the bank has sponsored our conferences. The sponsorship will go a long way in meeting the intended purpose which is discussing the 2063 agenda which is focusing on transforming Malawi into a self-reliant middle-income country that will be able to finance its own development agenda goals. During the conference, we will also touch on areas of interest like Agricultural productivity, urbanization, commercialization among other things that are key for agenda 2063 hence this sponsorship ly timely."
Some of the notable speakers at the conference will include the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Dr Grant Kabango, Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Martha Chizuma with a keynote note address from Transformational Coach from South Africa, Justin Cohen.
