Most of the winners in the K1 Million weekly prizes for the Airtel Yabeba promotion are small scale entrepreneurs who are contemplating to use the cash prize in expanding their businesses.

Speaking at the 8th weekly draw of the promotion which was held virtually in Lilongwe on Tuesday, Airtel Malawi's Spokesperson Norah Chavula said it has been satisfying to witness how the promotion is transforming lives of Airtel Malawi's subscribers.

 

"The diversity of the winners has been very fulfilling to witness that most of them being entrepreneurs who plan to use the proceeds from their winnings to boost their capital," says Chavula.

 

She said so far the company has disbursed a total of K57 Million in cash prizes. 32 people have since gotten K1 million richer with other 50 winning K100,000 and 2,000 winning K10 Thousand kwacha each.

 

One of this week's K1 Million winners Adidya Samuel a tomato seller from Chikombe in Salima could not believe her luck.

 

"If it is true that i have won such amount of money, then i will boost my business and change my life, says Samuel.

 

The draw saw other 250 winners going away with K10 Thousand kwacha each.
