The Southern Africa Development Committee (SADC) ministers responsible for transport and meteorology are meeting in the country’s administrative capital Lilongwe, beginning today, Monday October 30.

The women, over 1000 in number, drawn from various corners of Malawi were holding the annual ‘Zokonda Amai Macheza’ gala, courtesy of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). The time was approaching mid-night on Friday and that was the time the merry-making women inside Sanjika Palace Marque were beginning to think the night was done.

President Arthur Peter Mutharika on Wednesday made a surpirise visit to Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) headquarters’ offices in Umoyo House in the Malawi’s commercial city of Blantyre.

Production has begun in Malawi on the untitled directorial debut of actor Chiwetel Ejiofor. He is directing, writing and starring in an adaptation of the book, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.
