Malawi is ready for the May 21 vote, a senior official of Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) declared Thursday night, assuring the 6.8 million voters not “to be afraid but go out to vote” as voting will be secret and secure.


Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Jane Ansah on Friday bemoaned transport bottlenecks ahead of the May 21 tripartite vote, saying from past experiences, she anticipates a shortfall of 700 station wagons and 346 trucks.


The DPP running mate in the 21st  May tripartite elections, Hon. Everton Chimulirenji has called upon the people of Neno district to continue putting their trust in DPP government for the development of the country.


Two parliamentary candidates have been chopped from the May 21 vote over a fake certificate and not resigning from the civil service, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) announced on Thursday.
