The ruling Democratic Progressive Party District Governors for the Central Region have thrown their weight behind the unopposed candidature of His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in the forthcoming tripartite polls. Speaking during a media briefing, the governors from all the 23 political districts in the region said they are rallying behind President Mutharika as a torch bearer for DPP in 2019 elections.
The High Court in Blantyre, has failed to make a ruling in a matter in which Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leader Lazarus Chakwera and other National Executive Committee (NEC) members are challenging an injunction that is restraining the party from holding a convention.
