Alliance For Democracy(AFORD) says it is a normal procedure for the Anti - Corruption Bureau (ACB) to question the party's President, Enock Chihana, the party discloses in a statement.

The party says ACB is acting within its mandate and there's nothing strange.

"It is a normal task for ACB to call individuals for questioning as it falls within perimeters of their work. By being called for questioning, it does not mean that one has violated a certain law.

"Questioning give ACB a chance to collect information on whatever investigations the institution is involved in," reads the statement in part.

The statement signed by Chihana's assistant, David Katete, clarifies to the party's followers that they should give chance to legal processes that will vindicate their president.

"Members are being notified that our President's conscience is clear and he is ready to face ACB for questioning later this afternoon.

"You will all be furnished with feedback on the same as things progress and all of us should ignore fake news aimed at tarnishing the image of our party President.
Let's wait patiently. Justice will prevail," says Katete through the statement.

Earlier ACB picked Minister of Energy, Newton Kambala for questioning. Efforts to speak to ACB  publicist, Egrita Ndala, proved futile.
