Malawi to host first ever Investment Forum

About 300 policy and decision makers from all over the world are expected to be part of the first ever Malawi Investment Forum which the country will host from 29th to 30th June this year.



The Malawi Investment Forum 2015 is aimed at showcasing investment and trade opportunities and promoting specific investment opportunities to both domestic and foreign investors.


According to the Malawi Investment and Trade Center (MITC), participants will come from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Belgium and other African and Asian countries.


Chief Executive Officer of MITC Clement Kumbemba said through the forum, participants will be exposed to a wide range of investment opportunities which will be deliberately packaged for the event.


“This forum will give participants both local and international a chance to explore opportunities that Malawi is sitting on, MITC intends to make the Investment forum an annual event, “said Kumbemba.


Kumbemba pointed out that the event will provide a rare opportunity for high level government officials to discuss and get insight from both domestic and international investors on issues pertinent to achieving an ideal business environment in Malawi.


The Malawi Investment Forum 2015 is expected to be the largest and one of the most important marketing platforms where government has packaged specific investment opportunities in seven sectors of mining, energy, transport, agriculture and agro processing, tourism and financial services.
