Sena, Mang’anja's in joint cultural festival

Lower Shire’s dominating tribes of Sena and Mang’anja are set to hold a joint cultural celebration, dubbed Mgumano wa Asena ndi Amang’anja on October 21.

The joint festival will be held at Paramount Lundu’s Head Quarters in Chikwawa and President Peter Mutharika is expected to grace the function.


According to one of the organising committee members, Musician Stanly Nthenga, traditional dances from Mang'anja side such as Gule wankulu, Chitsukulumwe will be on display.


While on the Sena side, according to the creator of Sena Jive, Utse, Nkhetekete will also be on offer.


Nthenga further added that there will also be live band music performances by Joseph Tembo, Moffat Aligiza, Khatwa, Aggorrosso, Nyandoro Mthenga himself, Phalyce Mang'anda, Eliza Mponya, Katelele and Ulimba Vibrations.
