Mussa was suspended for openly challenging founder of the party Joyce Banda that her mandate of running the party had expired in August.
Mussa also expressed anger at Joyce Banda, accussing her of nursing intentions to field her son Roy as candidate for the party in the forthcoming general elections.
However, when summoned for a disciplinary hearing, Mussa did not turn up for the hearing.
And speaking to MBC, PPs spokesperson Nowa Chimpeni, says the party’s leadership will decide on what to do with Mussa.
Said Chimpeni: “He remains suspended because the committee made its recommendation and we will meet to make a final decision. He was already given a chance to appear before a disciplinary hearing and he cannot be summoned twice. If he had a problem that day he would have said so, but he said nothing and therefore we cannot waste time calling him again.”
Efforts to speak to Mussa proved futile as his phones went unanswered on several attempts. But earlier on he was quoted by the media saying he did not turn up for the hearing because the committee did not form up a quorum hence their lack of mandate to summon him.
