The launch was graced by Blantyre Synod General Secretary Alex Maulana who described the competition as a good initiative in promoting development at the church. He pointed out that giving is part of worship as the money will do Gods work.
“God will not come down to raise funds for the church but he has assigned people to do his work,” he said commending Chirimba CCAP for the initiative as the structure will be magnificent hence it will have a name in the country.
In his remarks, Chirimba CCAP Reverend Luckson Chingadza said the raffle draw competition is open to the general public as the grand prize for the draw is a Toyota Vitz. He added that to enter into the competition one is suppose to buy a ticket at MK1000 only.
“The raffle draw is open to everyone even those who don’t worship with us, we are targeting MK25 million from a raffle draw competition. The winner will win a car only with MK1000,” said Rev Chingadza adding that the current church is small to accommodate members.
He further said the raffle draw competition will run for 3 months and the final draw for the grand prize is in November.
“Apart from the car people will be able to win some things like TV screen, kitchen stuff like cooker just to mention a few,” said Rev. Chingadza.
