Widson Nhlane who is Deputy Public Relations Officer at Limbe Police identified the suspects as Joseph Adamson aged 21 from Sumbuleta village in Traditional Authority Machinjiri in Blantyre, Christopher Nyangala aged 31 of Juma village in Traditional Authority Bvumbwe in Thyolo and receiver of the properties Rabson White aged 28 from Makanjira village Traditional Authority Makacha in Mangochi who is doing business in Ndirande township.
“The duo Joseph Adamson and Christopher Makhalira on August 4, 2017 at night attacked the Guards of Chanje Farm in the village of Dzungu in Bvumbwe township and violently robbed them a generator, solar battery, plastic chairs, two bicycles and a cell phone all valued at one million Malawi Kwacha,” said Nhlane.
He added that after successful police investigations the two were arrested which led to recovery of the stolen items but generator and solar battery were recovered from the third suspect Rabson White.
They are to appear in court soon to answer charges levelled against them i.e. Robbery with violence and receiving stolen property.
“This has been possible because there is a cordial working relationship with members of the public in fighting crime in Limbe policing area,” said Nhlane.
