According to a press statement from the EIB, during the visit, Ballekom will announce new financing for aviation safety and water
investment.
“The high-level EIB delegation will meet key Ministers, Ambassadors and the local business community. Successfully completed water
projects supported by the EIB in the past will also be visited,” says the statement.
The EIB has provided nearly EUR 230 million for long-term investment in Malawi since 1977.
This has included support for improving water and sanitation in Lilongwe and Blantyre, as well as energy, transport and private sector investment across Malawi.
The European Investment Bank is the world’s largest international public bank and is owned by the 28 European Union member states.
