The State house Press Office has confirmed the news in a statement signed by Presidential Press Secretary Mgeme Kalilani.
According to the statement, Mutharika will also preside over the launch of the Interpol Turn Back Crime Awareness Campaign at the same venue.
Kalilani said the function will start at Ten O’clock in the morning.
Commenting on the development National Police spokesperson James Kadazdera has told MBC that over 1300 police recruits are graduating on Friday, 2 December, 2016.
Kadadzera said the new police officers will help to reduce the Police to citizen ratio and reduce crime in the country.
“The coming in of the new officers will help to boost Police visibility in this country which is also currently helping to reduce crime across Malawi,” said Kadadzera.
Meanwhile on Saturday President Mutharika will preside over the International Day of Persons with Disability at Luchenza, in Thyolo.
