The Vice President called on the people of Mchinji West to vote for Mr Steven Kamwani a DPP candidate during the November 1st, by-election.
Dr Chilima was speaking at Chinteka One Primary School ground in the area of T/A Simphasi during a development rally he held in the district.
The Vice President, who is an Advisor to the DPP NGC, also assured the people that government was in control to ensure that no one dies of hunger as a result of the floods and el nino that hit the country.
“As government we know about the hunger situation and we are in control so the opposition should not come here and just tell you that there is hunger. This is a national calamity and should be treated with the seriousness it deserves and not for political agendas,” said Chilima.
