“Chiefs are very important in implementation of development projects in the area”, Chipungu said when he was donating 73 bicycles to the chiefs.

He pointed out that the constituency is big and the terrain is difficult hence the bicycles will help the chiefs easily move from one place to another.

Speaking to MBC one of the beneficiaries Group Village headman Chagunda expressed her gratitude to the MP and President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for the donation.

“I thank our legislator and President Mutharika for taking good care of chiefs in the country”, Chagunda said.

Later speaking to a gathering that wanted to greet their leader, Chipungu assured the gathering that President Mutharika is in charge of the country.

“DPP won the elections but some people took the matter to court but President Mutharika is ruling this country” Chipungu said.

He encouraged them to register in good number if the courts uphold the ruling for a fresh presidential election.

His visit to the constituency was an encouragement to the people that DPP is a ruling party.
