President Peter Mutharika on Tuesday commissioned the multi-billion Kwacha Kalenge Water Supply Project with a stern warning against vandalising the facility by the consumers.

The governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has dismissed assertions by some political commentators that the arrest of its Southern Region vice president George Chaponda was a huge dent on the party.

Over 47, 000 households are the main beneficiaries of the multimillion dollar Kalenge Water Project in Chitipa District, which President Mutharika commissioned on Tuesday.
