Dzimbiri  made the call Monday at Senior Chief Chikowi’s residence in Zomba when he met a group of women who are doing agro based businesses and poised beneficiaries of a goat project to be rolled out soon.

Dzimbiri who is Former First Lady said for many years, women have depended on men for support and this was putting them at a disadvantage as they end up being subjected to various forms of abuse.

She said women should now rise up and become dependent and move away from the dependency syndrome.

The Former First Lady observed that women engaged in active businesses, with stable families, have higher chances of advancing in businesses with a lot of opportunities of educating their children up to tertiary levels.
