The ceremony took place at Kambuwe primary school in Mchinji where Minister responsible, Ben Phiri, urged the new chief to be loyal to Government.
He also issued a strong warning to corrupt chiefs in the country saying their days are numbered because President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is serious with his anti corruption drive.
The Minister has also assured people in the district that government will continue developing rural communities.
Speaking on behalf of chiefs, Senior Chief Dambe thanked President Mutharika for his commitment to develop rural communities by promoting chiefs. He also asked for government's intervention to families that are at risk of hunger due to food shortage in Mchinji.
On her part, Member of Parliament for Mchinji North East, Esther Majaza, who is also Deputy Minister of LocalGgovernment and Rural Development commended Mutharika for promoting Sub TA Kambuwe.
