This was said during a political rally which the shadow MP organised at Mgoloka primary school in Balaka.
Speaking to MBC online, the shadow MP, Chifundo Makande also highlighted youth empowerment as one of the major factors which he will do once voted.
“I will be lending money to the youths in the constituency in order for the youths to start small business so that they should be financially stable,” said Makande.
Makande added, “For the past 12 years which Balaka Central East has been choosing opposition member of parliament, there has been no progress in the constituency since development projects come from the ruling party which is DPP.”
“I will launch both football and netball league in six areas and I know many youths will benefit by the end of these matches,” Makande concluded.
During the political rally, Regional Governor for the Eastern Region Julius Paipi urged traditional leaders in the constituency to vote for DPP candidates both on presidential seat, Member of Parliament and also ward councillor so that they should see the good fruits of DPP in Balaka Central East.
“There cannot be development if people vote for opposition member of parliament in the constituency,” said Paipi.
Paipi assured people that in the Eastern region that the party is not shaken with the various political party coalitions which are taking place ahead of the 21 May tripartite elections.
