Malawi awarded for hunger fight by FAO

The Republic of Malawi has been awarded by The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAo) of the United Nations for fighting hunger and for making outstanding progress in ensuring food security for all.

This award will be presented to Malawi on a Special Event that will be held in Rome on 7 June 2015 (FAO, HQ - Plenary Hall).

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations presents its compliments to its Members and their accredited Permanent Representations and Embassies.

The FAO has extended an invitation to His Excellency the State President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to attend a Special Event on 'Completing the MDG round: recognizing achievements in the fight against hunger'.

The Special Event to be held during the 39th Session of the FAO Conference, on Sunday 7 June 2015 from 15.00 to 18.00 hours in the Plenary Hall at FAO Headquarters, and will present an award to President Mutharika for achieving MGD Goal number 1 which is the success achieved by Malawi in fighting hunger and making outstanding progress in ensuring food security for all.

So far 15 Heads of State and Governments have confirmed to attend the Function in Rome.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations avails itself of this opportunity to renew to its Members and their accredited Permanent Representations and Embassies, the assurance of its highest consideration.
