According to reports, the veteran journalist died in a car accident on Saturday night when the vehicle he was travelling in overturned at Kamwamba M1 Road.
Tenthani who was travelling from Ntcheu to Blantyre sustained serious head injuries and died on arrival at Mlambe hospital.
Tenthani was travelling from his home village with his two sons, his brother and a personal friend. The four have sustained various injuries; his two sons have been admitted at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.
In his career which spanned over a long period of time Tenthani has worked across various news outlets in Malawi and abroad. A professional critic of authority, Tenthani had a column in The Sunday Times called the Muckraking. His body is at College of Medicine Mortuary.
