District Aids Coordinator (DAC) for Chiradzulu Chriss Nawata disclosed the development last week Wednesday during a District Executive Committee-DEC meeting at the Boma.
Nawata said 31 CBOs whose proposals were successful are expected to benefit from the package.
“The funds will mostly be used for awareness campaigns and capacity building. This is in line with NAC advocacy policy which emphasizes on fostering behavior change among the people,” said Nawata.
Nawata appealed to the CBOs to use the funds for the intended purposes, reminding them they were subject to auditing by the Local Authority and Central Government.
Nawata also called on members of District Aids Coordinating Committee (DACC) to continue monitoring CBO activities.
“CBOs will be active and produce quality work on the ground if district officials monitor their activities regularly,” stressed Nawata.
