SADC TROIKA CALLS FOR MORE COLLABORATION IN FIGHTING EXTREMISM

SADC Chairperson Dr Lazarus Chakwera says challenges the SADC  region faces can be resolved if countries in the block collectively work together in addressing the problems.

Dr Chakwera was speaking on Tuesday, at a dinner he hosted for  SADC Heads of State who are in Malawi to attend an extraordinary summit of the grouping.  
 
The Heads of State and Government at the dinner included South Africa's President, Cyril Ramaphosa, who is also the current chair of the SADC Troika Organ Responsible for Defence and Security.
 
Mozambique's President, Felipe Nyusi, whose country is at the centre of the main agenda of the extraordinary summit was also in attendance.
 
The summit seeks to assess progress made so far in defusing extremist attacks in the  Cabo Delgado Province of  Northern Mozambique. Reported by Mayeso Chikhadzula, MBC Online Services.
