Reverend Kamwendo was speaking in Machinga during the presentation ceremony of cows to Muslims in the Eastern Region donated by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera as part of the celebration.
Reverend Kamwendo said the gesture by President Chakwera demonstrates that the President is an ardent fighter of peace and coexistence in the country.
"The President is therefore advising all of us to coexist and foster peace and unity as his  Government is implementing various development projects in this region," said Reverend Kamwendo.
Commenting on the development was Paramount Chief Kawinga of Machinga who expressed gratefulness for the gift.
"The gesture by Dr Chakwera only shows that he is a caring father and we are very thankful," said the Paramount Chief.
The development has fascinated some Muslim men and women who received their portion right at the ceremony and were all smiles.
The Muslim community celebrates Eid al-Adha in commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s test of faith when he was commanded by God to sacrifice his son, Ismail.
