President Dr Lazarus Chakwera earlier today attended the launch of the Theological Society of Malawi at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
The society seeks to provide a platform for theological engagement, support and coordination of theologians or institutions that are delivering theological studies within and outside Malawi.
So far the society has already held two national conferences at Nkhoma Mission in September 2020 and at the Ekwendeni Campus of the University of Livingstonia in September 2021.
At the Nkhoma Conference, 50 theologians and 12 institutions made presentations which were published in a book titled Theology in Malawi: Prospects for the 2020s.
The 27 papers presented at the Ekwendeni Conference are also being put together into a book titled: ‘Decolonizing Theology in an Age of Online Learning.’
