World Vision launches K300 million ECD feeding programme

World Vision Malawi has launched an initiative aimed at improving Early Childhood Development (ECD) through the provision of corn soya blend flour porridge to under-5 children in Phalombe and Mulanje Districts.

Country Director for World Vision, Francis Dube, said this on Tuesday during the donation at Chitekesa in Traditional Authority Jenala in Phalombe.

Dube said the initiative targets over 5000 children attending Community Based Childcare Centers (CBCCs) under the organisation’s program of ending hunger and malnutrition among children.

Acting Director for Child Affairs in the Ministry of Gender, Justin Hamela, said the initiative will assist in improving the children’s physical and mental health while building a better future nation.

The programme will run for 3 months in 138 CBCCs in the two districts.
