Sports analysts are convinced that the TNM Super League is developing due to the increasing number of international signings being made by various clubs.
One of them, Christopher Njeula, stressed in an interview with MBC that this has the potential to bloster the value and competitiveness of the league.
Since the transfer window opened, teams like FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Dedza Dynamos — have all recruited players from Zimbabwe and Nigeria and Creck Sporting signed Ademola Ismail Ajibola, a 22-year-old Nigerian striker on a three-year deal.
Bullets have signed Ronald Chitiyo and Collin Mujuru from Zimbabwe while Dynamos secured the services of Samson Olatubosun, a Nigerian player who previously played at Aztec Football Academy.
The two teams will face each other in a TNM Super League kick-off on Saturday at Dedza Stadium.
Sports analyst Dan Chemis says Olatubosun has to immediately prove his worth at Dynamos as he is expected to fill the void left by departed superstars Clement Nyondo (who joined Mighty Wanderers) and Charles Chipala (who joined Silver Strikers).
Henry Gome, another sports analyst, added that the new signings for Bullets; Chitiyo and Mujuru, are likely to feature prominently due to their reputation as talented players in the Zimbabwean top flight.
Soccer fans and analysts alike are hoping that the coming in of the foreign players will bring excitement to the local league.
