The Sustainable Futures Global Network (SFG) has called for ethical leadership to deal with issues of climate change in the country.
Sustainable Futures Global Network Co Director, Mia Perry, made the remarks in Lilongwe during the 7th SGF Annual Symposium whose aim is to build capacities and understand community-engagement participatory practices in rural areas .
Perry said experts from diverse cultures have to work hand in hand in providing technical solutions using scientific and traditional knowledge in solving environmental and global challenges that affect people.
Deputy Director of Environmental Affairs responsible for Environmental planning, Monitoring and Research in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Climate Change, Ben Yasin, said there is a need to have coordination from grassroots to successfully implement interventions that address environmental challenges.
The 7th SFG Annual Symposium was held under the theme: “Empowering communities for resilience amidst challenges.”
