SOS EMPOWERS 49 WOMEN WITH BUSINESS START UP SUPPORT

In a bid to empower youthful women, SOS Children’s Village through its Women Empowerment Drive, has provided business start up equipment to 49 women in Lilongwe.

Thank you SOS, some beneficiaries receiving and posing with equipment they have received.

The women are recent graduates of SOS Vocation Technical College where they underwent training in various fields such as Food Production, Hairdressing, Fashion Designing and Beauty Therapy.

Coordinator for SOS National Advocacy on Communications, Linda Harawa, emphasized the importance of the initiative, noting that alot of women face Gender-Based Violence due to a high dependency burden.

Maida Kamwera, one of the graduates, hailed the training and donation as transformative.

She encouraged women and girls to pursue similar courses.
