People from all walks of life have gathered at Kapoloma Headquarters in Machinga to pay their last respects to late Senior Chief Kapoloma.
Notable figures at the funeral ceremony include former head of state Bakili Muluzi, UDF President Lilian Patel, Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Region Violet Magwaya, Lhomwe Chief Paramount Kaduya as well as representatives of political parties and faith groups.
Late Senior Chief Kapoloma died on Saturday after battling cancer.
Burial is expected to be held this afternoon.
