One of the authors, botanist Zachariah Magombo, who is the Acting Director General of Botanic Gardens of Malawi says the study has also established that in the past 20 years, some areas have lost one fifth of their bio-diversity and therefore called for multi-country efforts to conserve and preserve the unique ecological diversity.
