Save the Children intensifies reading culture

Save the Children says there is a need to establish reading clubs in primary schools to improve the literacy levels in the country.

Save the Children Programs Coordinator for Catch Up Clubs, Hellina Mwimba said the Catch Up Club initiative has proven to be effective as more students have improved their performance in Reading Fair Competitions that Save the Children has been organising in Lilongwe.

The two-year project which started in April 2022 has engaged 20 primary schools in Lilongwe Rural West and East  with support from Swedish Postcode Lottery.
