The Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba, says Principal Secretaries in Ministries are crucial in formulating and implementing the government’s policies.
Zamba was speaking during a meeting with the secretaries at the Malawi School of Government (MSG) in Lilongwe.
She said the government has also introduced a performance management systems for efficiency in the civil service.
“After the SONA and the National Budget passed, we thought it wise to meet these controlling officers so that they align themselves with the government vision,” she said.
Blessings Chilabade, Secretary for Human Resource Management and Development, said the meeting will equip all Principal Secretaries with valuable skills to navigate the transformation of government services.
This is the meeting to be held at MSG after President Dr Lazarus Chakwera officially launched the institution, which has campuses at Kanengo in Lilongwe and Mpemba in Blantyre.
